It was fantastic working with Ajay, Ankan, Sunny and Esther. They always had something interesting to say. They are unique individuals with unique views and the feedback was always diverse. It was a quick, reliable way for me to improve the quality of the work. This doesn’t mean that I didn’t send them the occasional angsty webcomic.

‘We could stare out the window and watch a ship from the Wisdom Line! pass by.

But Let’s say you were hoping for a piece of cake with your coffee. You could ask me for that. Then I would say that talking is good for conveying information. For instance, I say “hello” to my neightbor, “how are you?” and she says “my husband is crazy.” Well, there you go.

If we did sit in silence, you might notice that there are many objects displayed around the apartment. Collections. Tangible evidence of history, memory, Longing, delight.’

It’s nice to think of things as being part of a collection of things. It gives each thing and the collection history and personality.

The reference point for the emailers is the editing and graphic design in the beautiful emails that I received from MyFonts and FontFont. I’ve been receiving their emails for 5 years and I still look forward to reading them. I can’t say that about most non-personal email. I can’t say that about most personal email either. The pleasantness; the slightly long winding, slightly indulgent layout; balanced by the editorial compactness were the 3 things I liked most and the 3 things I wanted to replicate.

The essential parts of the communication are the offer in a sentence, a detailed interpretation of what that means for the consumer, the duration of the offer, a link to get started and finally the terms and conditions. We’d get this essential information right and then we’d maybe add in something interesting. I’m being very hopeful but I hope that people enjoyed reading the emails.
